Nevada Gaming Revenue Hits Record High in July

The Silver State achieved a milestone in July, recording a record-breaking $1.4 billion (€1.3 billion/£1.1 billion) in monthly gaming income. This achievement is attributed to robust earnings on the renowned Las Vegas Strip throughout the month.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board announced that the total gaming income from casinos and sports wagering in July experienced a 6.7% surge compared to the same period in 2022. Nevada’s gaming sector has consistently generated over $1 billion in gaming income for an impressive 29 consecutive months.

These figures were propelled by the state’s second-highest monthly table game revenue, reaching a remarkable $513.1 million. This signifies an increase of over 7% year-on-year.

The Las Vegas Strip’s revenue reached a substantial $834.9 million, marking a 7.9% increase from the same period in 2022 and a 14.8% jump from June’s $727.3 million.

July’s revenue established a new benchmark for the Las Vegas Strip, surpassing the previous record of $792.6 million set in July 2021.

Nevada’s sports wagering operators reported a revenue of $25.3 million, a significant 55.7% increase from July 2022. Mobile and online betting accounted for a substantial 65.7% of all sports wagering during the month.

Sports betting activity for the initial seven months of 2023 has experienced a 7.7% decline, with revenue down 13.3% over the same period.

Gaming revenue for the first seven months of 2023 has witnessed a 4.1% year-on-year increase, positioning the state to surpass last year’s record total revenue of $14.8 billion.

The Silver State garnered a hefty $95.8 million in percentage levies from taxable income during that particular month.
