ACMA Requests Blocking of Two More Foreign Gambling Sites

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has asked for the barring of two additional foreign gambling sites.

The ACMA has reached out to Australian internet service providers (ISPs) to block Pokizino and ABA Lucky 33, which have been recognized as operating unlawfully in Australia.

The ACMA has declared that both websites are unlicensed and therefore in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, making them illegal to offer online gambling in Australia.

Since the ACMA first made blocking requests in November 2019, a total of 652 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked.

Furthermore, since the agency began enforcing new regulations on illegal foreign gambling in 2017, over 180 illegal services have left the Australian market.

The most recent two blocking requests come after the ACMA also asked ISPs to block another nine websites last month.

Following a series of inquiries, the ACMA determined that Winning Days, 21Bit Casino, Oshi Casino, Lucky Elf Casino, NeoSpin, Lets Lucky, Boho Casino, Ripper Casino, and BC.Game were all in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

The focus is on associates.

This statement comes after the ACMA’s prior commitment earlier this month to take action against “partner programs that advertise and send visitors to illicit online betting platforms.”

The ACMA clarified its actions taken from July to September, indicating that affiliate services for unlawful and foreign gambling sites, frequently disguised as impartial gambling website evaluators, will be a primary target for adherence. These services direct users to these platforms.
