UK betting firms likely saw a massive profit exceeding £75 million during the recent Grand National Festival, as per an assessment by the betting platform bettingexpert.com.

Bettors wagered over £35 million on the Grand National race itself, yet bettingexpert.com calculates that bookies enjoyed earnings of at least £75 million throughout Saturday alone. Their evaluation, drawing on combined figures from significant UK bookmakers, indicates an average gain of £2.84 per client on that day.

Expanding the view to encompass the entire three-day Aintree festival, the data points to bookmakers generating an average profit surpassing £16 per client. Friday’s Ladies Day emerged as especially profitable, with bookies netting an average of £11 per client, in contrast to £2.33 on Thursday and £2.84 on Saturday.

Across the three-day Grand National Festival, users placed an average of 7.5, 10.3, and 7.9 wagers each day, respectively. The average sum per wager landed between £9.10 and £9.20.

These numbers align with a pattern of profitability for bookmakers, as emphasized by bettingexpert.com’s data from the previous month, which demonstrated that bookies earned an average of £3.21 per client following the Cheltenham Festival.
