Australian Rules Football icon, Wayne Carey, was recently removed from a Crown Resorts casino located in Perth after a white substance was discovered on his person, leading Carey to criticize the gaming corporation.

Last week, an unknown white powder reportedly dropped from Carey’s pocket. The AFL great maintains that the substance was not an illegal narcotic.

The 51-year-old retired athlete clarified that the powder was anti-inflammatory medicine he had been using and asserts that he surrendered it when the packet slipped out.

“I simply want to state that nothing unlawful transpired here. I am disappointed,” Carey stated.

“There were chances for (Crown) to contact law enforcement, which they should have done. If the incident involved illicit substances, they would have immediately used the phone.”

Crown Resorts’ recently appointed CEO, CiarĂ¡n Carruthers, contradicted Carey’s account, informing local news sources that the AFL legend’s version of the events did not align with the statements provided by Crown staff members.

“Our staff are instructed to report any behavior they consider questionable. They reported it, evaluated it, and in this situation, our team member requested the patron to vacate the premises,” Carruthers explained.

“To the best of my understanding, they were unaware it was Wayne Carey at the time. He was a customer, merely purchasing chips at a table.”

“(Employees) observed a small plastic bag containing money fall out and notified the gaming manager.”

He abandoned his belongings, and the subsequent events are hazy. The gambling establishment, as stated by their chief of protection, Cole Blanche, had a responsibility to instantly alert law enforcement about the occurrence. Concurrently, Carey’s legal representative is investigating if their client was exploited.
